How To Plan Your Thanksgiving Dinner
Thanksgiving Day
is all about enjoying the food. The main attraction
of the show is of course the Thanksgiving dinner.
And when it comes to Thanksgiving dinner, you don't
have to stick with the traditional just the traditional
mashed potatoes, corn and pumpkin pie. You can actually
have lobsters, fish and even vegetarian dishes!
It is probably unthinkable to have a traditional Thanksgiving
meal without potatoes or pumpkin pie. But historians
say that the original Thanksgiving dinner might not
have those on their table. Instead the pilgrims had
lobster. The reason being is that they ran out of
flour. The pilgrims had to use corn flour for bread
and by the time they were to have the Thanksgiving
meal, flour had ran out. So they made do with boiling
pumpkins for their Thanksgiving dinner. Having lobster
is a great thanksgiving food idea because it'll be
something to eat beside the heavy turkey. It also
makes a great appetizer. Here's a quick Thanksgiving
recipe -- you'll need the following:
Lobster meat - 1 lbs.
Dry white wine - 1/3 cup
Fresh lime juice - 1/4 cup
Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Lime zest - 1 teaspoon
Butter - about 6 leaves
Boston lettuce - 1 head
Cut the lobster meat into bite size pieces. In a wok
cook wine, lime juice, oil, and zest for 2 minutes
over medium heat. Increase the heat to medium-high
and add lobster. Stir fry for 2 more minutes you'll
know it'll be ready when the lobster meat is opaque.
Then chill for an hour. Place the lettuce leaves in
small bowls and top with lobster mixture. And serve
while you're doing your preparations for the main
course.
